Climate Justice Organizing Fund
The Climate Justice Organizing Fund supports grassroots groups organizing to change the policies, practices, and processes that create and maintain climate inequities, and provides grants for community-based groups to strengthen their capacity to organize or develop a climate justice organizing strategy.
Angels Protection Inc. organizes for climate justice through improving child development systems, especially regarding air quality, housing, and other environmental conditions. They develop leaders in mothers and young women between the ages of 13 through 20.
Camden For Clean Air is organizing to close the Covanta Camden incinerator and stop their plan to import and burn liquid industrial waste in South Camden.
Centro de Cultura Arte Trabajo y Educacion (CCATE) organizes toward social transformation by building power in the Latine community through health, science and technology, environmental care, and participatory research.
CFET (Center for Environmental Transformation) is organizing toward environmental transformation for the neighborhoods of Camden, New Jersey.
CRCQL (Chester Residents Concerned for Quality Living) is leading the environmental justice movement for clean air and healthy communities in Chester City and Delaware County since 1992.
DeColonizePhilly is base-building power through community members’ hands, creating and cultivating a new society centered on sustainability, community healing, and joy. DeColonizePhilly’s climate justice strategy acknowledges how disproportionately affected BIPOC folks are by climate change and centers its mission around these disparities.
Diaspora Within Inc. is building a network of people of color in the United States and abroad to access holistic healthcare, coaching, training, and counseling services. They develop holistic approaches to combatting climate change and foster stronger community connections to nature through culture.
GREAT (Germantown Residents for Economic Alternatives Together) organizes around issues of housing justice towards strengthening holistic health and well-being. GREAT organizes to improve housing conditions for the most vulnerable populations, demonstrating how housing and climate justice are connected.
Hunting Park Neighborhood Advisory Committee (HPNAC) mobilizes the welfare, development, and well-being of people residing or established in the Hunting Park Community, with care to shaping housing, development, and repair practices for homes in the neighborhood.
Indigenous People’s Day Philly builds an active Native American and Indigenous presence in Philadelphia through cultural, community-building initiatives that uplift their Native traditions, creative economies, and histories. Their connection to climate justice is rooted in a shared commitment to cultural practices and political education.
Making Worlds is a nonprofit cooperative movement-based bookstore and social center in West Philadelphia with roots in independent book publishing, community media, journalism, and organizing. They are aiming to create and facilitate a Climate Justice Coalition, using their space as an organizing hub, and political education space.
National Institute for Healthy Human Spaces Inc. is mobilizing toward a more sustainable planet for our children. The need to stop climate change’s most harmful effects drives demands for clean water and improved infrastructure.
Neighborhood Land Power Project is building a neighborhood-based food and land system through community leadership development and land-based strategies in West Philadelphia.
PA Climate Equity Table unites urban, rural, and suburban voices for racial, economic, and climate justice by building community, electoral power, shared racial and environmental justice analysis, and policy change.

The Parents & Caregivers Organizing Fund was a one-time Fund that made $150,000 in grants to grassroots movement groups organizing for change in early childhood systems across the Philadelphia region.
African Family Health Organization (AFAHO) mobilizes members for the health and political education of African and Caribbean families, immigrants, and refugees in Philadelphia. AFAHO builds power through a peer-support model that uses shared language, cultural expertise, and systems-navigation knowledge to help families overcome social determinants and improve health and educational outcomes.
Assata’s House organizes for collective care, healing justice, political education on liberation, and empowerment. Assata’s House, through their Care Hub Initiative, ensures families—especially Black and Brown caregivers and families—have access to culturally rooted tools and networks that sustain them.
Children First PA organizes to improve the lives of the Philadelphia region’s children by developing initiatives that address economic disparity, early learning, and vulnerable youth by building a network of quality health care, childcare, public education, and family stability.
chosen•kin: a circle honoring Black, queer and trans parenthood mobilizes Black queer & trans parents to build community power through storytelling and artmaking. chosen•kin takes action toward intergenerational learning spaces for birthing and non-birthing parents, lactating parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, co-parents, parenting polycules, and those trying to conceive and/or on the journey to parenthood.
First Up mobilizes early childhood professionals, families, and other adults influential in young children’s lives through training, coaching, and power-building to positively impact educational and developmental outcomes for young children.
Juntos is a community led Latine immigrant organization organizing for human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants. Juntos mobilizes families and caregivers to involve them in political education, advocacy, and campaigns to change oppressive systems and fight for their own collective liberation.

Philly Childcare Collective (PCC) mobilizes its community base for free and donation-based childcare for grassroots organizing meetings and events. PCC engages children in activities and discussions to broaden their understanding of the world and to encounter political concepts like justice and liberation.
Voice of Early Childhood Education is a collaborative organizing movement composed of childcare providers, families, practitioners/teachers, and public and private stakeholders working together to ensure the childcare sector has balanced representation reflective of its community.

The Racial & Economic Justice Fund is a core fund at Bread & Roses that moved $200,000 to groups engaged in direct-action community organizing in the Philadelphia region to promote racial and economic justice.
Abolitionist Law Center is a law firm dedicated to ending race and class-based discrimination in the criminal justice system.
Asian Americans United empowers Asian Americans in Philadelphia to exercise leadership in their communities and come together to challenge oppression.
CAIR-Philadelphia‘s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

Philly Palestine Coalition’s organizing mission is to amplify the demands of Palestinians living under brutal occupation, apartheid, and now genocide. Through the leadership of Palestinians in the occupied territories and those in the diaspora, they make the issue of Palestine a local issue because it is U.S. tax dollars funding this oppression. Palestine is also a local issue because the same systems oppressing Palestine are those that oppress Black, brown, indigenous, poor, queer, and marginalized people globally.
Philly Thrive works to build a world where we can all breathe and thrive. For them, that means creating a world free of toxic air pollution and polluting oil refineries, particularly in South Philly neighborhoods.
Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign‘s mission is to unite the poor across color lines as the leadership base for a broad movement to abolish poverty and build a cooperative society that ensures economic, social, and cultural rights.
Restaurant Opportunities Center United – Pennsylvania is a membership-led organization with a mission to improve restaurant workers’ lives by building worker power and uniting workers of various backgrounds around shared goals and values. ROC-PA is the only Pennsylvania organization that combines worker advocacy, workplace justice campaigns, job training, and participatory research to build power for low-wage restaurant workers.
Urban Creators‘ mission is to nurture resilience and self-determination in North Philadelphia by building and maintaining land and food sovereignty.
UrbEd is a student-led organization that advocates for a stronger urban education system. They work to improve education with a focus on issues that impact economically disadvantaged students and students of color.
Why Not Prosper responds to the needs of women in the prison system and supports women’s re-entry journey from prison to their community. This grant will support Why Not Prosper’s Women’s Advocacy program in its fight for quick access to Medicaid and doctor’s appointments for returning women.
