Rebecca Rathje is the founding director of Youth United for Change, an organization dedicated to developing young leaders in Philadelphia and providing them with training and tools to improve the quality of their education and their communities. YUC began in 1991, and Rebecca served as the Executive Director for the following thirteen years. Rebecca first came in contact with Bread and Roses as a grantee in the early 90's, then served on the Community Funding Board for several years, between 1999 and 2004. She continues to be a Bread and Roses donor and facilitates meetings for the Barbara Smith Community School. As a result of her connections to Bread and Roses, Rebecca recently joined the board of Reconstruction, Inc., another Bread and Roses grantee. She currently works as a grant writer and is married with a three year old daughter.
